So I'm browsing the net today, and I go on Wikipedia hoping to find an answer to a question someone asked when under the "In the News" section, I notice that Barry Bonds has hit his 756th Home Run. Well its finally happen, Bonds has finally broken the Home Run record to the delight of no one not even his godfather, Willie Mays. What has occured tonight is a true robbery of honesty and integrity. The once great home run record is now a sham because someone decided to juice up because they realized they will never be as good as their father.
I'll say it, I supported Mark McGwire when he broke Roger Maris' record, I supported Barry Bonds when he broke McGwire's record, and I even supported Rafael Palmeiro when he hit his 3,000th ball. In the years since, Mark McGwire has refused to address his steroid accusations, Palmeiro has lost all integrity and trust, and now Bonds sits a-top the most prestigious record in all of sports. I never supported this to occur, I never wanted Hank's record to be broken and I never thought I'd see the day where I actually stop watching a sport I'd supported in all 11 years of being a sports fan(Baseball fan since 1997). But with the recent events and the fact another dick(this one coincidently nicknamed A-Rod)is almost guarenteed to break it, I may just give up on Baseball all together.
One of the things I've always wanted to do along with calling a Super Bowl is to call a World Series where the Orioles finally break out and end their 20 plus year drought but its hard to support a sport full of sham and cheats. The bottom line is you will never convince me that Barry Bonds earned that record without some kind of boost. My only hope is his doctor, who is sitting in a California jail cell wasting away finds it in him to tell the truth and show some integrity. Let me just say no matter what Wikipedia says, no matter what ESPN say, and no matter what Sports Almanac(which I get yearly)says, or Major League Baseball says, Hank Aaron will always be the all-time leader.
